Kia ora, I’m Chelsea Waru, and I’m excited to embark on my journey as a mortgage adviser after completing my New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services – Residential Property Lending.
With a background in social work and real estate administration, my choice to become a mortgage adviser pairs my passions for people and property together beautifully. Originally from Auckland, I have been lucky enough to call the beautiful Bay of Plenty home for a few years, and I am now a proud Kawerau local.
Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my husband and four awesome kids. We love the outside activities this special part of Aotearoa offers. From surfing over at Ōhope Beach to a dip in the river followed by the hot pools here in Kawerau, we feel very privileged to live in this part of the world.
After recently going through the process of purchasing our first family home, I’m passionate about helping first-home buyers achieve their dreams of homeownership. I believe in building lasting relationships based on trust, transparency and some laughter thrown in there for good measure. It’s important to me that my clients feel supported and empowered to make informed decisions about their financial future.
I look forward to meeting you and being a part of your journey to homeownership.
Ngā mihi nui.

After moving to New Zealand from Canada in 2019, I’ve worked diligently to refine my expertise in the Financial Services Industry and obtained my Level 5 Financial Certification with the Life & Health Insurance and Investment strands. I have family from Whakatāne, so my partner and I decided to return to settle in town.
As we got more embedded locally, I sought opportunities to better contribute to the community. Mortgage Bliss was the perfect opportunity for me to engage locally and focus my services in town to provide tailored financial advice while ensuring my clients are financially protected against the risks that matter the most to them.
I believe that every client is unique and that navigating the complex world of insurance can be daunting, which is why I take a personalised approach to every interaction. I work closely with our clients to understand their financial objectives and risk tolerance, enabling me to develop customised insurance solutions that meet their specific needs.
In my spare time, you will find me along the Warren Cole Walkway with my son in the pram, playing inline hockey or kicking around a football. I am very passionate about personal finance including wealth building, budgeting, and consumer behaviour.
I would love the opportunity to meet with you to get financial systems in place to help you meet your goals or to just have a chat about the financial world.

I’m Jo Burke, and I’m here to work alongside you with the goal of strengthening your financial position. My commitment to you doesn’t stop with securing a mortgage; I’m here for the long game, ensuring you have ongoing support and guidance, whatever life throws at you.
With eight years of experience in the mortgage broker industry, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a genuine enthusiasm for real estate. My drive to help others is at the core of my professional philosophy. I take pride in developing strong relationships and providing the best possible outcomes for my clients.
Growing up with a business-owning father, Ron Shapley, I inherited a determined and dependable work ethic, as well as a passion for numbers. My dad instilled in me the importance of great customer service and the building of mutual trust. I pride myself on practising what I preach and doing what I say I will.
Outside of work, I enjoy lifting weights, spending time with my family, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee. These activities help me maintain a balanced lifestyle and stay energised to better serve my clients.
I look forward to working with you and supporting your financial goals. Let’s connect and build a plan that sets you on the path to success.

With a wealth of experience in residential lending and business banking that spans over 40 years, I am now doing what I do best – finding appropriate and cost-effective solutions for my clients’ borrowing needs.
I have extensive New Zealand and international banking experience, having worked in corporate and trade finance in Zimbabwe, South Africa, Zambia, the UK and Malaysia. For 17 years, I worked as a Partner for Business Acquisition with one of the “Big Four” New Zealand banks, looking after the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
I am at my happiest when I’m helping people, and I do my best to provide holistic solutions by gaining a full understanding of my client’s circumstances, applying my working knowledge of the most appropriate products available on the market, and, most importantly, having fun doing it! For me, there is no better reward than helping a young family into their first home or assisting a hard-working entrepreneur in starting their own business.
I am well known in the local community, having served on the Board of Trustees for Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty and Trident High, and I have been a Justice of the Peace for the past six years.
For fun, I enjoy going fishing with my wife Annie (even though she always catches more than I do), playing squash, and jamming with other musicians on my bass guitar or my acoustic guitar.

Starting with the BNZ back in 2005, I have built up a wealth of knowledge in home and Business lending over the past 17 years. I have used this experience in the financial industry to help many clients with financial solutions for their lending needs.
While having experience in a few different roles within BNZ, my highlight would be my Chevron award in 2017 as a banking advisor, this was recognition for outstanding customer service and solutions for those customers in home lending. This award is the highest award that is offered at BNZ and recognises my success.
My aim is to work to provide financial solutions for you, by understanding your specific needs before recommending the products to suit your circumstances. My goal is to make things as simple as possible and to ensure it’s clear what you are getting from your lending, and that you are as relaxed as possible whilst making these life decisions.
On a personal level, I’m passionate about our corner of the Eastern Bay and supporting the wider community. Having lived in Whakatane for most of my life, I’ve had the opportunity to get involved in a great range of support roles. In the past, I coached the first team at Whakatane Town Football Club, and I’m currently serving as a trustee on the board of Bay Wide Community Law. At the weekend, you might also spot me getting around on my Vintage Vespa Scooter.
I look forward to meeting you and supporting you with your financial goals.
Vanesch Gordon

I’m Vanesch, also known as Ness, and I’ve notched up a total of 22 years in the banking industry, working with two of NZ’s biggest banks.
Starting at the young age of 19 (decades ago), I’ve worked in various roles across the personal financial sector and business banking. I was lucky enough to work alongside some amazing, highly experienced colleagues, learning from them as I made my way.
Over those two decades, the banking industry has provided me with so many fantastic experiences and a wealth of financial knowledge. I’m now in the privileged position of being able to pass this on to my clients, providing them with expert financial advice that supports their short and long-term goals.
I pride myself on taking away the stressful and overwhelming financial aspects of home buying. I do this by keeping it simple and taking a client-centred approach, seeking out the best lending products that suit your needs. My commitment to you continues with a review plan to ensure your financial solutions remain appropriate should your situation change.
I have a passion for property and love to share my personal experience of renovating, building and investing in residential property. In my free time, you might see me walking our dog Sonic on Ohope Beach or hitting the beautiful local trails either by foot or bike.
Give me a wave, or better yet, make an appointment to discuss your financial goals.
